More and more of retail is moving to online fulfillment. However, if you know what you want is at a store and it was the same price as online, would you rather buy it in a store? More than 70 percent of respondents of a new study said they would prefer to buy in the store.
The new survey by TimeTrade questioned more than 5,000 consumers on what would drive them into a store. The results are surprising:
- Special promotions displayed on website (55%)
- Print ads (49%)
- Email (38%)
- Location-based promos (opted in, 29%)
- Text notification (with permission, 27%)
- Marketing through social media (20%)
- Mobile ads (18%)
It is easy to discount print in this digital age, but it still has a time and a place.
