Nearly 25% of American adults have not read a book in whole or part in the last 12 months. This includes print, audio and electronic form.
I’ve always been a book reader (and a book-tape reader), so I was surprised by the numbers. The survey also found that lower income, lower education and rural people were more likely not to read a book in the last 12 months. Pew found these people are the least likely to own a smartphone and so not likely to read e-books as wells.
With so much being disrupted in business and marketing, it’s hard for the book industry to stay current. Here are a few books I’ve found helpful no matter the disturbances in the marketing place.
