Heather has over 20 years of fundraising experience guiding clients on fundraising goals from start to finish. As regional fundraising advisor, she’s there every step of the way. To ensure every client and campaign is successful, she helps teach and coach people on how to fundraise, monitors campaign activity, communicates regularly with clients and consults throughout the campaign process, offering recommendations from action plans to management. Heather has led numerous capital campaigns for clients all over the Midwest and coordinated the development of case statements and studies; fundraising materials, including video; strategic plans; readiness assessments; feasibility studies; encompassing interviews; and research reports.
Healthcare Marketing Experience
Prior to joining AMPERAGE, Heather helped raise substantial funds as executive director of the Covenant Foundation Inc. and Satori Health Care Foundation – MercyOne and while working for the American Cancer Society as development director. She coordinated special events and the creation of programs; raised funds for equipment, new buildings and major gifts; and managed solicitations and internal communications. Heather's healthcare marketing experience has helped numerous hospitals, long-term care facilities and childcare centers achieve their fundraising goals.
Higher Education Marketing Experience
Before joining AMPERAGE, Heather was the director of development for the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Northern Iowa Foundation, as well as a foundation officer for Hawkeye Community College, where she raised annual and major gifts to establish and enhance scholarship programs and organized special events. With her extensive experience in higher education marketing and fundraising, she has a firm understanding of how to reach campaign goals and target audiences. She excels in the development of fundraising materials, property transactions and teaching people how to fundraise.
Nonprofit Fundraising Experience
Heather is passionate about nonprofits and is involved with many. Heather’s extensive fundraising experience helps nonprofit clients meet campaign goals and enhance, develop and grow their mission. Heather has worked with nonprofit museums, county entertainment, human service agencies and public transportation. She excels in the development of fundraising materials, feasibility studies, strategic plans and helping to train staff and volunteers on meeting goals and asking for gifts.
