A Pipeline To Prosperity
Northpoint Achievement Zone (NAZ) partners with schools and families to prepare youths from the Northside neighborhood to graduate from high school, enter college and pursue careers.
NAZ had been a Federal Promise Grant recipient but needed to replace and expand upon that funding as the grant expiration date approached. Minneapolis-based fundraising firm Hansen Henley Yoder & Lamb (HHYL), acquired by AMPERAGE Marketing & Fundraising in April 2023, developed “NAZ Is Working”, a $35 million investment campaign designed to raise awareness of and broaden the donor base for this important nonprofit. The marketing services provided included a development assessment, campaign planning and management, campaign structure support, case development, cultivation planning, individualized donor strategies, cabinet and leadership support and consultation throughout the campaign.
NAZ Campaign Results
The three-year, three-phase campaign was divided into Leadership, Major Gifts and Public Phases. The initial campaign goal of $35 million was raised in the Leadership Phase, with another $8 million raised in the follow-up phases.
Not only did the new funding help ensure the continued success of NAZ’s programs, but the campaign promotion efforts amplified awareness of the opportunity gap for people of color in Minneapolis’ Northside and beyond.
