Marion Public Library Plans Grand Opening
The Marion Public Library will celebrate the grand opening of its new library on Saturday, Aug. 26. A program and ribbon-cutting will occur at 8:45 a.m. Activities and tours will occur throughout the day for all age groups starting at 9 a.m. More details about the library’s grand opening event may be found at https://marionpubliclibrary.org/grand-opening/
AMPERAGE Marketing & Fundraising provided campaign counsel for Our Next Chapter, the campaign to transform the Marion Public Library. The campaign raised over $3.1 million for the new library in uptown Marion, Iowa.
ConnectCR Invites Community to ReCycle the Bridge Event
ConnectCR is a community partnership bringing together two major community betterment initiatives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; the revitalization of Cedar Lake and the creation of a pedestrian/trail bridge to replace the old Rock Island/CRANDIC bridge that was partially washed away during the 2008 flood in Cedar Rapids. The bridge will be replaced with the Alliant Energy LightLine pedestrian bridge. ConnectCR’s intention is to recycle and reuse parts of the old bridge in signage and landscaping near the new bridge. To mark the removal of the old bridge, ConnectCR is planning a “ReCycle the Bridge” celebration on Aug. 31 at the Mount Trashmore 948 building in Cedar Rapids. The celebration will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a special program at 5:15 p.m.
