And the Emmy goes to…
If you watched the Emmys, then you know the world has shifted—digitally.
Jeffrey Tambo and Jill Soloway won Emmy awards for this work for Amazon.com. Yup, you heard it correctly—Amazon.com. The show “Transparent,” won for the online retailer.
Many familiar names won including NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX, but some non-broadcast newcomers also garnered a lot of nominations, including Netflix, LouisCK.net, HBO, AMC, Showtime, Sundance and Amazon.com.
What does this mean to the world? It means that good programming is being recognized no matter how it is produced. Great video content can come from a retailer, movie producer or a cable outlet. The creative bar has been raised across the board.
Who will be next, Walmart.com? I would not bet against it.
